‘We have great news to share’: Children’s Mercy announces all victims discharged
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - As the Kansas City area pulls together to the victims of Wednesday’s mass shooting outside Union Station, one area hospital has good news.
Thursday morning, Children’s Mercy announced that it had received 11 total patients from the shooting at the Chiefs parade and rally. Nine of those patients had been shot, and all were between the ages of 6 and 15.
Only one patient remained in the hospital by Friday night, and the rest had been discharged.
On Saturday, Children’s Mercy announced it had “great news” and that all patients had been officially discharged.
“ to take some time to care for yourself,” Children’s Mercy said in its statement.

Several patients are still recovering at University Health Truman Medical Center and St. Luke’s Health System.
Initially, the hospital had received 12 patients, eight of whom had gunshot wounds. By Friday evening, all but three patients had been discharged.
On Saturday, University Health issued a release, saying, “No changes since yesterday’s update. [Three] shooting victims connected to Union Station remain at University Health. One is in critical condition and two are in stable [condition].”

There is no update from St. Luke’s Health System on the condition of its final patient, who was last reported to be critically injured but “now considered stable and progressing.”
