Raytown teachers to get one of district’s largest pay raises in decades

RAYTOWN, Mo. (KCTV) - Teachers in the Raytown Quality School District are getting a pay raise next year.
The district’s board of education approved what it calls one of the largest salary increases for its staff in the past 20 years.
“Your contributions have not gone unnoticed, and this salary increase is a reflection of the value you bring to our team every day. We believe that investing in our employees is crucial for the growth and prosperity of our children, school district and community,” Penelope Martin-Knox, Superintendent, said in an email to teachers.
All staff will get an additional step, which comes with a salary increase. They will also get an extra 4% ray on top of their base salary. Teachers who worked continuously in the district during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years will get two additional years of service, as well as the salary that goes along with it.

“While we recognize the challenges you’ve faced, your resilience and perseverance have been nothing short of remarkable. Your unwavering dedication to excellence has propelled us forward, and for that we are truly grateful,” Martin-Knox said.
The raises apply to all staff and take affect July 1.
