According to court documents, police responded to the home where Haefs lived after she called 911 and told a dispatcher that the devil was trying to attack her.
When officers arrived, they found blood leaning to the front door. The probable cause statement shows that an officer looked inside the house and noticed the decapitated head of a child.
Once inside, they found Haefs with blood on her legs and feet. The body of the decapitated child was lying nearby and they found a decapitated dog in the basement, according to court documents.
The documents state that Haefs itted that the child was biologically hers and she had killed him.
