Parents sue trucking company, driver after daughter killed in Kansas City crash
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A wrongful death lawsuit claims a truck driver and his employer were responsible for a deadly crash that killed a two people, including a Kansas City girl, on Easter.
Shan Hoskins and Marcus Oliver filed the lawsuit last week.
It claims Medina Transportation L.L.C. and Pablo Figueredo were negligent when Figueredo rear ended a car on Interstate 435 at Route 210 on March 31. The lawsuit claims Figueredo drove a box truck for Medina Transportation at the time. It also alleges Figueredo was driving too fast for the road conditions at the time of the crash.
According to the lawsuit the crash injured Hoskins and killed her 12-year-old daughter. The person driving the car they were in also died in the crash.

The suit claims Medina Transportation L.L.C. failed to properly train and supervise drivers and also failing to implement a safety program for drivers.
The lawsuit claims the 12-year-old was forced to endure severe physical and mental pain and suffering, as well as emotional distress, prior to her death.
It also claims Hoskins suffered physical and mental anguish from her injuries and the loss of her daughter following the crash.

Figueredo was also injured in the crash.
