Missouri I-70 lane expansion projects have begun, but Kansas City area will still be a while
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Statewide construction in Missouri for I-70 improvements began on July 8.
Governor Mike Parson previously broke ground on June 13 in Columbia for the almost-$3 billion project. The biggest part of the project includes an additional lane for the majority of the highway to improve congestion.
The six parts of the project will begin construction at various times and is anticipated to be fully complete by 2030. However, drivers in Kansas City may see construction as early as August 2025.
