Blue Springs brewing up coffee options for those who need jolt of java
BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (KCTV) - Coffee lovers will soon have no shortage of options to grab a cup of joe.
Three new chains are in the works, in addition to the locations, and local coffeeshops, that already call Blue Springs home.
Dutch Bros. is the latest company that is interested in opening a location in the community.

of the Blue Springs Planning Commission recommended a proposal to add a Dutch Bros. location at the corner of NW R.D. Mize Road and Route 7. The location is just south of Popeyes and would be in the empty corner lot in front of the strip mall.
A public hearing on the plan is scheduled for the Aug. 5 council meeting.

A spokesperson for the city of Blue Springs said crews are working to sheetrock inside the building, but Starbucks has not notified the city of an opening date.
The city is also waiting to hear from Tim Hortons. The Canadian fast foot chain and coffeehouse is know for its brew and breakfast menu.

The chain plans to open inside a former fast food restaurant near Woods Chapel Road and NW Kingsridge Dr. Banners are hanging from the building, but a city spokesperson said leaders have not been updated on the company’s plans.
