Gold Star schools have the same criteria as a National Blue Ribbon, an award William Yates has received in the past.

Principal, Kerri Edwards said honors like these start with positivity on day one.

“Their enthusiasm, their high-fives and excitement carries us into a brand new school year,” Edwards said.

Blue Springs has also added more security and safety for the school year. There is now at least one resource officer in every school across the district.
