Twin sisters begin collegiate hoops journeys at different Kansas schools for first time
DE SOTO, Kan. (KCTV) - For as long as they can , Amanda Tower and Addison Tower have been inseparable.
“Addison just gets me,” Amanda said. “She knows who I am, she understands what I am.”
“I’ve had her with me my whole life,” Addison added. “We’ve done everything together.”
The recent De Soto High School graduates have a connection unlike any other.
“All that ‘twin stuff’ is real,” dad Chad Tower said.
“It was magical because they had built-in friends, built-in competition, built-in everything,” mom Nancee described.
The twins are so close that they even picked out the same type of car, just in different colors.

Seemingly nothing could come between these two, not even boys.
Only one thing could pry them apart — basketball.
“Basketball’s meant everything to me,” Amanda said.
Their driveway battles are legendary.
“I like to get up in her grill and play some hard defense on her,” Addison said. “And that really makes her mad.”
And it’s their love of basketball that will break up this duo, as Amanda will play hoops at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, while Addison heads off to the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas.
“It’s definitely going to be very sad,” Amanda said.
And that feeling extends to their mom and dad.
“That week’s going to be emotional for us,” Chad said.
“Nervous is not something I would say,” said Nancee, “but just excited to see what’s next.”
But they both know they’ll be losing something.
“It’s going to be different,” Addison said. “But i feel like it’s going to be good for us.”
“Yeah, it’s going to be exciting,” Amanda said. “But it’s going to be weird at first because I see her 24/7. She makes me mad at times, but it’s going to be weird not seeing my sister.”
So the marathon battles in the driveway will come to an end. And who’s the best player?
“I am!” they said together.
“Definitely me,” Addison said. “I always win the one-on-one battles.”
Amanda disagreed: “No!”
Their friends and family will find out when the University of St. Mary plays Bethany in January. For the first time ever, the Tower twins will go head to head, playing for different teams.
