KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs have added some late help to its rush ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster cutdown.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Kansas City acquired Arizona Cardinals outside linebacker Cam Thomas. In the deal, Kansas City gave up a seventh-round pick.

Thomas, a former third-round pick of the Cardinals from the 2022 NFL Draft, has three sacks in 32 career games. He has two years remaining on his rookie deal and will count for $1.4 million against the salary cap in 2024.

The San Diego State product started three games for Arizona in 2023 and had a fumble recovery for a touchdown along with 22 tackles while appearing in 15 games.

Kansas City’s -rushing unit also includes George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, former first-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah and Charles Omenihu, who is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in January’s AFC Championship Game win over the Baltimore Ravens. Thomas’ arrival could impact others competing for roster spots.
