Kansas City restaurant reopens following arson, vandalism

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City restaurant vandalized and then damaged by arson reopens.

Haha’s Kebabs and Shawarma, near W. 39th Street and Wyandotte Street, announced Monday that it reopened for business following “a challenging time.”

The restaurant’s owners also credited the community with its ability to continue serving its food.

Haha’s said customers can continue to expect to see their favorite dishes, sandwiches and wraps available.

The restaurant said it’s enhanced its cleaning protocols to help ensure safety and customer comfort.

Court documents filed in Jackson County Circuit Court show that George J. Daniels, 53, has been charged with second-degree arson in connection with the July 8, arson at Haha’s. He is scheduled to be in court later this month.
