KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - They might appear to be sweet little 10-and 11-year-olds, but appearances can be wrong.

Meet the toughest, most cold-blooded team in the Kansas City Chiefs flag football league.

Quarterback Taylor Smith is a sweetheart, except when she’s carving up opposing defenses like Patrick Mahomes.

“We play like the Chiefs,” she said. “We try to at least.”

To be honest, Taylor’s stats are actually better than Patrick’s this season. But why not? She’s throwing to the 11-year-old version of Travis Kelce.

There’s even a Tyreek Hill-type player on this team, in the form of Kinsley Fogt.

“When you’re small, you can be a lot faster,” Kinsley said. “It’s harder for them to pull your flag.”

The only questionable thing: the name!

“Our name is the Thunder Monkeys,” Gwyneth said.

Including tournaments, the Thunder Monkeys have forged a 10-0 record, while outscoring their opponents 272-25.

They’ve even qualified for the NFL’s national tournament.

When we asked who plays like Chris Jones, several players pointed to Clara Titus, who hunts tackles like Jones pursues sacks.

“I’m just real good at pulling flags and several interceptions and pick-6’s,” Clara said.

How many 11-year-old girls dream of pick-6’s? That’s one of the neatest things about his league, it allows young girls to learn and understand a sport that can dominate their family’s lives.

“It’s real fun when I watch the Chiefs play,” Gwyneth said. “I can understand it more, and I can hang with my brothers and dad when we play football in the front yard.”

So look out world, the Kansas City Thunder Monkees are looking to follow in the Chiefs' footsteps by winning a national championship.
