Investigators release identities of those involved in fatal Lee’s Summit shooting
LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (KCTV) - Investigators have released the identities of those involved in a Lee’s Summit shooting that left one man dead.
The Lee’s Summit Police Department announced on Saturday, Nov. 23, that the victim in Friday’s shooting had been identified as Craig L. Scott, 51. The shooter was also identified as Keith J. Marshall, 31, of Kansas City.
Law enforcement officials indicated that around 8 a.m. on Friday, emergency crews were called to the area of SW Rutherford Dr. and SW Maryville Pl., just south of Highway 150, with reports of a shooting. The caller reported that Scott and Marshall knew each other beforehand.
As first responders entered the home, they found Scott suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Marshall ran from the house before police arrived, but surrendered himself a few hours later.
Marshall has been booked into the Lee’s Summit Jail and faces charges of murder in the second degree, two counts of armed criminal action, burglary in the first degree and unlawful use of a weapon. His bond has been set at $250,000 cash.
