Tractor-trailer hauling pigs rolls on I-635, northbound traffic shut down
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Several Kansas drivers experienced delays on one of the busiest traveling days of the year Wednesday.
A tractor-trailer heading eastbound on Interstate 70 from Basehor to Iowa flipped onto its side while exiting onto I-635 north around 10:20 a.m.
The accident blocked northbound lanes of traffic on I-635 just past I-70 in Kansas City, Kansas.
The truck was hauling a load of pigs, taking several hours to offload.
Of the 95 hogs on the trailer, four of them perished in the crash. Those who survived were taken to a local holding facility by KCK Animal Services.
The driver was not seriously hurt.

Northbound traffic on I-635 was shut down at Orville Avenue, as well as the northbound I-635 exit ramps from EB and WB I-70. All lanes have since reopened.
