Couple ties the knot on Chiefs’ Drum Deck: ‘This is something you dream about’
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) -Chiefs Kingdom has its newest married couple. Talia Pernice and Josh Lindquist tied the knot on the Drum Deck at Arrowhead Sunday night before the Chiefs took on the Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
“This is a true love story!” Pernice said.
“I genuinely think die-hard Chiefs fans, this is something you dream about,” Lindquist said of the drum deck wedding. “For it to really come to fruition is something else. Here we are today.”
Talia and Josh’s love story began at their community pool – where Josh was handing out watermelon and caught Talia’s eye. Fast forward to this year’s Bears vs. Chiefs preseason game, and their relationship took another leap.
“The moment was right,” Lindquist said. “I proposed right outside of the stadium.”
“I did not expect it all!” exclaimed Talia. “We were late for the game. I was rushing. He was calling my name. I was like, ‘What? Is everything ok? What?’ and he was like ‘Talia!’ and he got down on one knee.”
The couple loves football and each other. Listen to Talia, and she’ll tell you the Chiefs’ superstar quarterback is the couple’s favorite player.
“We love Patrick Mahomes,” Pernice said. “Obviously, we love the Chiefs, but Mahomes is the G.O.A.T. for us and the G.O.A.T. for everyone.”
