KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - After days of cleaning up the aftermath of the blizzard that swept through the area, more snow is in the forecast.

Micheal Shaw, Director of Public Works told KCTV5 that right now their focus is laying down salt on top of the snowpack many of residents are seeing in neighborhoods and on side streets.

“Do your best to stay off the roads,” Shaw said. “Park your cars on your driveways, out of the streets. It helps us plow a lot better. We are laying salt, so if you see a truck and it doesn’t have its plow down, it’s because it’s salting. The main thing is this event is not over.”

Ahead of more snow, Shaw said they ordered 10,000 additional tons of salt.

“We always go into the season with what we call the ‘second order,’ prepared for reserve, we are just going to it sooner than we normally would,” Shaw said.

Shaw said they’re also working to clear bike and pedestrian lanes.
“Just know we are out here working, and we will get this city back,” Shaw said.
