Second-degree murder charges filed against woman accused of driving while intoxicated
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Lenexa Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal car crash and announced a charge for the driver believed to be responsible.
Officers were called to the residential intersection of West 89th Terrace and Park Street around 11:10 p.m. on Jan. 17. They found two cars had crashed and come to a stop in a neighboring yard.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that one car, a Ford Bronco, ran a stop sign while driving east on W. 89th Terrace and hit a Toyota RAV4 driving north on Park Street.

The driver of the RAV4, 48-year-old Tsige G. Mesfin of Shawnee, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
46-year-old Amy Dawn Crouch of Lenexa, Kansas, was arrested that day. She and her enger were not injured in the crash but police believe Crouch may have been operating the Bronco while under the influence.
Crouch is now charged with second-degree murder, according to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office. She is in custody on a $500,000 bond with her arraignment scheduled for Jan. 21.
