Man who shot at Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper enters guilty plea
JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City man who shot at a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper during a high-speed pursuit has entered into a guilty plea.
Christopher Northcutt, pleaded guilty last week to first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence. The charges were the result of a high-speed chase on I-70 in Grain Valley on Nov. 19, 2022.
Court records in Jackson County said a driver accelerated away at a high speed after a MSHP trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a traffic offense. After a pursuit began, a rear-seat enger in the vehicle emerged from the window and fired multiple shots at the trooper, striking the officer’s vehicle.

He’s set to be sentenced on April 17 at 11 a.m.
