KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Some more ideas for an updated County Club Plaza are being floated in the community.

Since Highland Park Village Partners, now The Village Collection, bought the Plaza in June 2024 for a reported $175.6 million, several ideas for updates have circulated.

Although Plaza management reiterated the images are merely conceptual, they are of high interest to residents who hail The Plaza as a crown jewel of the city.

In the end, Kansas City is promised an increase in security and a focus on unique brands at The Plaza while honoring the original design of its Spanish-inspired architecture. The Country Club Plaza’s sister city is Sevilla, Spain.

There’s no word yet on when construction will ensue.

The Village Collection owners are descendants of oil tycoon H.L. Hunt, father of the Kansas City Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt.
