Man killed after car crashes into Louisburg salon identified as Drexel firefighter
LOUISBURG, Kan. (KCTV) - A husband and wife were injured Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into a Louisburg business. On Tuesday evening, the man ed away from his injuries.
The Drexel Police Department shared on social media that Anthony Juarez died at about 9 p.m., surrounded by his wife and family at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Juarez had been a member of the Drexel Fire Department for nine years, his band a frequent performer at local festivals and was “a beloved member of the Drexel community.”
He and his wife were inside the Safari Hair Salon in the 900 block of West Amity Street when a man driving his pickup westbound drove off the road, onto the curb and continued until it crashed into the building.
The Louisburg Police Department told KCTV5 on Wednesday morning that the driver suffered minor injuries but had been treated and released and was at home with family.
Juarez’ wife was also released from the hospital, the police department said.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the officers stated they would continue to gather information on the incident over the next several days, Louisburg police indicated.
