Olathe police release additional information on suspicious man after incident at area park
OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - The Olathe Police Department gave a brief update Wednesday on an investigation to find a suspicious man.
A suspicious activity call came in to police around 1:30 p.m. on March 17 in the 11300 block of South Clare Road. That’s in the area of Cedar Creek Elementary School in northwest Olathe.
Witnesses said a man asked kids playing at a park to get in his car. They described the alleged suspect as a man in his 50s or 60s with short black hair, wearing a red shirt and dark pants.
The man’s vehicle was initially described as a grey or silver four-door enger vehicle that was missing its hubcaps. Investigators have since clarified that they believe it to be a Chevrolet Malibu with a temporary license plate tag. They believe it has damage to the rear driver’s side bumper.
Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to the Olathe Police Department at (913) 971-6363 or the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-8477.
This is a developing story. KCTV will update it if any new information becomes available.
