POLO, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri driver was taken to a metro area hospital after her car was rear-ended by another car along a rural highway near Polo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that just before 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, emergency crews were called to the area of Route T and Missouri Highway 116, about 3 miles west of Polo, with reports of a 2-vehicle crash.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 25-year-old Lawson woman had been driving a 2002 BMW 325I west on the highway, followed by a 2013 Ford Focus driven by a 19-year-old Pattonsburg woman.

State Troopers noted that the BMW’s driver slowed to allow another driver to turn, however, the front of the Ford collided with the back of the BMW. The impact pushed the BMW into the eastbound lane.

As a result, emergency crews indicated that the BMW’s driver was taken to Liberty Hospital by private vehicle with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said that everyone involved had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both vehicles were totaled as a result. No further information has been released.
