Investigation opens into deaths of 2 men after crash, shooting reported in KC
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Investigators continue to piece together what led to a shooting at the scene of a crash that led to the deaths of two men near South Kansas City.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that around 7:20 p.m. on Friday, May 16, emergency crews were called to the area of E. 92nd and James A. Reed Rd. with reports of a collision. While en route, the call was upgraded to a shooting.
When first responders arrived, they said they found two gunshot victims - a man who was found outside his parked vehicle and another who was found inside a crashed vehicle. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators said they continue to canvass the area to look for potential witnesses and determine what led to the shooting. Crews continue to process evidence at the scene to give detectives a better picture of the chain of events.
Anyone with information about the incident has been asked to report to the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. A $25,000 reward has been offered for information that helps lead to a conviction.
Police have not said if they are searching for any suspects. No further information has been released.
