10 adults, 8 children rescued from home after foundation collapses
NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (KALB/Gray News) - Ten adults and eight children were rescued from a home after the foundation collapsed on Saturday.
According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to reports of a home that collapsed on Highway 495.
Authorities arrived at the scene around 7:15 a.m. and discovered the rear foundation of the home had collapsed.
According to authorities, 18 people, 10 adults and eight children, lived inside the home.
Everyone was unharmed, but a pregnant woman was sent to the hospital to be checked out.
Investigators discovered that the rear foundation had been built over an embankment and had weakened and collapsed.
Authorities said the homeowners must find a new place to live.
