First Warn Sunday for the possibility of severe weather. Gorgeous weather returns Monday
Let’s get prepared for tomorrow. The first item you need to be aware of is the First Warn alert for the chance of severe storms. A quick moving cold front ignites storms around 2pm, possibly reaching severe levels by 3pm. The risk is 2/5 with very large hail, up to baseball size, and damaging wind gusts. A very low threat for a tornado does exists. Storms likely fire south of Kansas City, targeting our southern most counties.
A secondary line of weaker showers and thunderstorms might develop behind the cold front. These would likely be closer to I-70. The window for wet weather is small with all storms looking to exit our neighborhoods by 7pm.
Gorgeous weather returns for Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday features our warmest day with building humidity. These leads to unsettled weather Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Right now, the most impactful showers and storms land on Friday. We currently have a First Warn to highlight this.
SUNDAY: First Warn for afternoon and evening strong to severe storms. Be prepared to find shelter between 3pm-7pm. Up to this point, Sunday looks great for outdoor activities. Our morning begins sunny with lower 60s. Patchy fog is possible where it rained heaviest Saturday. Increasing clouds with seasonal highs in the lower 80s for the afternoon.

MONDAY and TUESDAY: Lovely weather! Sunny with light humidity. Temperatures range from the middle to upper 50s to lower to middle 80s.
WEDESDAY: Looking like our warmest day with highs in the upper 80s. It’s going to get sticky also.
THURSDAY, FRIDAY and SATURDAY: Unsettle weather creates a 30% to 40% chance for showers. We have a First Warn for Friday’s more impactful showers, possibly covering our morning commute.
