Benton County, Mo., treasurer arrested for sex crimes involving a child
WARSAW, Mo. (KY3) - The Missouri Highway Patrol arrested the Benton County treasurer for sex crimes involving a child.
Richard Renno, 62, faces charges of enticement or attempted enticement of a child and sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15. A judge ordered him held on a $1,000,000 bond.
Investigators say that in August of 2024, Renno used the Grindr app to have access to a 14-year-old. Investigators say he sent a nude photograph of himself to entice the child to have sex. Renno itted he had online conversations with the minors two or three times on the app. Investigators say he itted that it was his picture.
Investigators say he itted to having the app for nearly ten years.
According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Renno was bonded out of jail at 6 p.m. Monday.
