BROOKFIELD, Mo. (KCTV) - A 54-year-old Missouri woman is recovering from life-threatening injuries after she was thrown from her motorcycle during a weekend crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that just after 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, emergency crews were called to a rural highway about 5 miles north of Brookfield, with reports of a single-vehicle crash.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 54-year-old Linneus woman had been driving a 2023 Honda CMX 300 motorcycle east on the highway when, for an unknown reason, she ran off the roadway to the left.

State Troopers said the woman was thrown from the bike before it crashed. She was taken to the University Medical Center in Columbia with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators noted that the woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The bike was slightly damaged as a result. No further information has been released.
