Kansas City to receive new Street Soccer Park ahead of World Cup 2026
KC is one of just six cities to get the new field and financial center
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - World Cup 2026 may be a year away, but Kansas City is already seeing the benefits of being a host city.
Visa announced Kansas City will receive one of its new Visa Street Soccer parks. The park is scheduled to open in September.
The permanent soccer parks were developed through a partnership between Street Soccer USA and Bank of America.
Street Soccer USA was founded in 2009. The nonprofit is now active in 16 cities and helping more than 75,000 kids and athletes in some of the country’s most challenged neighborhoods play soccer.
“This movement is about scale, sustainability, and impact,” Lawrence Cann, Co-Founder and President of Street Soccer USA, said. “Alongside our partners, we are making a significant toward building a national network of parks that deliver real value—on and off the field. These are spaces where young people can grow, communities can connect, and every victory, big or small, can lead to meaningful change.”
Other cities getting the new soccer parks are:
- San Francisco
- Denver
- New York City
- Nashville
- Atlanta
Each park will include two pro-grade soccer fields, a financial education center, and youth-focused sports programming.
Kansas City has not announced the location of where the new soccer park will be located.
The first location opened in San Francisco earlier this month.
Visa said the soccer park in each city will be used to provide a community connection to World Cup 2026 while also improving the futures of the communities hosting events.
