Kansas City woman accused of smuggling fentanyl into Kansas prison
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A wanted convict was arrested in Missouri after she was accused of smuggling fentanyl into a Kansas prison in 2023.
Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Monday, June 9, indicate that Nevada Mosley, 36, of Kansas City, has been arrested in connection with fentanyl that was allegedly smuggled inside a Kansas prison.
Butler County, Kansas, District Court records revealed that Mosley was charged with trafficking contraband into a correctional facility and distribution of opiates.
A criminal complaint filed by the Butler County Attorney’s Office indicated that in August 2023, Mosley was accused of smuggling fentanyl into the El Dorado Correctional Facility. She then allegedly distributed nearly 50 of those pills.
However, court records also indicated that these charges were not filed against Mosley until January 2025. A summons was issued for her appearance in court in both January and March; however, Mosely never appeared.
An extradition waiver was signed in Missouri on Monday for Mosley’s transport back to Kansas. As of Tuesday afternoon, she remains behind bars in the Show-Me State. No further information has been released.
