Kehoe says Missouri National Guard remains on standby for ICE protests
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - As protests against ICE raids continue across the country, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe said the State’s National Guard is on standby.
Tuesday night, hundreds gathered in downtown Kansas City in solidarity with protestors in Los Angeles. Two groups, one below the Liberty Memorial and another at the intersection of Southwest Boulevard and Avenida Cesar E. Chavez, met up and marched in the Crossroads.
On Wednesday, Kehoe said immigration enforcement protests across Missouri are being monitored by authorities.

“We are prepared to assist local law enforcement in protecting our communities,” Kehoe said. “We respect, and will defend, the right to peacefully protest, but we will not tolerate violence or lawlessness.”
The protest in Kansas City, Missouri, Tuesday night, while peaceful, did block a portion of the roads and disrupted traffic at times as protestors marched through the Crossroads. The KC Streetcar service was also periodically delayed due to the demonstration.
