FIRST WARN FORECAST: Weekend starts steamy, may end stormy
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - We have summery weather lined up this weekend, which means heat, humidity, and a storm chance. Saturday will be sunny and hot for plans outside, but dry. Sunday now is showing signs of a potential storm, and we are First Warning you that there’s a chance for disruptions to plans outside. The new information also includes a low to severe risk, with a Level 1/5 possibility for hail and high winds. The timing is currently the morning for wet weather, with a drier afternoon. This is not a sure thing (there’s a chance the storms stay west of Kansas City), but it is a new trend that should be noted as we make plans this weekend.

SATURDAY: Morning temperatures near 70, sunny and hot for the afternoon with highs in the upper 80s. The heat index will range from 90 to 95. Winds will be light from the southeast at 5-10 mph.

SUNDAY: FIRST WARN - Scattered morning storms possible, then turning drier for the afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s and humid, so the heat index will range from 90 to 95.

NEXT WEEK: It’s a more active setup that will have us in and out of scattered storms. The best chance is Tuesday, and we are First Warning it with a 40% rain chance. Highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90 with high humidity.
