KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A popular liquor brand has teamed up with the Kansas City Community Gardens to gather volunteers to make renovations at a local hub of nourishment.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka announced on Thursday, June 12, that it has teamed up with the Kansas City Community Gardens for a fourth straight year - this time to complete a major overhaul of the Eastwood Hills Community Garden.

As part of the Love, Tito’s, Block to Block program, the liquor company noted that it will KCCG in much-needed repairs and renovations to the Eastwood Hills garden, which fell into dire need after a decade of service to the community.

According to Tito’s, volunteers will remove invasive honeysuckle and clear trash to make improvements to the fencing, irrigation system, garden shed and more. In an area where more than half of the residents struggle to find healthy food, the upgrades are expected to empower the community as a sustainable hub of nourishment.

This will mark the fourth project that Tito’s has worked with the Kansas City Community Gardens to revamp:

  • In 2021, the groups helped to establish the Greenwood Community Garden.
  • In 2022, the groups made renovations to the Freeway Park Community Garden - including 24 new raised beds and the replacement of 26 existing ones.
  • In 2023, the groups established the Maple Park Orchard Garden and planted more than 50 fruit and nut trees.
