KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The ‘No Kings Day’ protests brought in thousands of attendees in both Kansas and Missouri on Saturday.

This story provides a timeline through live updates, photos and videos on both sides of the state line.

10:00 p.m. - The city remains peaceful as crowds are mostly cleared out.

7:00 p.m. - Crowds dwindle in Overland Park, but protesters remain into the evening. Watch a livestream with the latest updates of the Kansas City-area protests.

6:03 p.m. - Mayor Quinton Lucas makes a post on X acknowledging the protesters.

5:45 p.m. - Here’s a look at our top stories from today’s “No Kings Day” protests across the Kansas City metro.

5:37 p.m. - More than two and a half hours after the scheduled conclusion of the Mill Creek Park protest, there are still plenty of people out and about in that area. Here is the latest from our crew in that area.

5:34 p.m. - As we approach the 6 p.m. hour in Overland Park, the crowds along 119th and Metcalf remain strong. The protest in this area is scheduled to conclude at the top of the hour, but it will likely extend past that time.

4:30 p.m. - About an hour from Kansas City, a “No Kings Day” rally kicked off at 3 p.m. in Topeka, at the Kansas State Capitol. Here is a photo gallery from our sister station, WIBW.

3:54 p.m. - Our KCTV5 crews at Mill Creek Park in Kansas City say the crowds have started to thin out as we approach 4 p.m. The protest was scheduled to conclude at 3 p.m. Our team says the crowds have moved to different parts of the Plaza, which has spread things out a bit.

11:35 a.m. - This is video from a couple who is attending the “No Kings Day” protest in Lee’s Summit. You can see large crowds have gathered at East Chipman Road & NE Douglas Street, which is scheduled to go until 12 p.m.

11:19 a.m. - Activity continues out at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park in Lenexa. It was scheduled to end at 11 a.m., but there is still a healthy crowd.
