Sharon is part of the KCTV 5 Anchor team and also contributes to the Special Projects Team. She has a ion for reporting on issues that affect people in Kansas City and beyond. Sharon is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who has also been recognized as the Best News Anchor by the Missouri Broadcasters Association.

When Sharon isn’t on the anchor desk, she actively engages in community service. She emcees various events, including Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Heartland International Fashion Week. Additionally, she volunteers as a board member for organizations like the Salvation Army, Mattie Rhodes Center, and NAAAP KC.

Sharon’s career has taken her across various markets. She began her journey in Scottsbluff, a small farm town in Western Nebraska with a population of 15,000. From there she has also worked in Colorado Springs, Hawaii and San Diego. After leaving San Diego, she took on the role as an Evening Anchor in Omaha, Nebraska, and eventually landed in Chiefs Kingdom.

Sharon was born in Chicago but raised in the college-rich town of Claremont, California. She graduated from California State University-San Bernardino with a degree in Communications and Broadcast Journalism. She also attended the University of California–Los Angeles.

When Sharon isn’t in the newsroom, you might find her in the kitchen, experimenting with new culinary creations. She also enjoys spending time with her family, particularly watching her daughter compete in Ninja Warrior tournaments.
